Jaime's Story

Like many, I have had problems with my weight since I was a kid. I was teased quite a bit in grade school, and I remember that being the first time I would attempt to restrict my food. Luckily, I was very active and played a lot of sports so it wasn’t too out of control. In the eighth grade, I remember standing in line at the cafeteria and a classmate called me a bad name, referencing my weight, for not allowing him to cut in line. That was when I decided to take drastic measures to do something about my weight, which started a cascade of poor eating behaviors while I began to lose weight unhealthily. I struggled with eating disorders all the way through my mid-twenties.

After, I made the decision to stop those behaviors, the weight quickly piled on and I felt out of control. While in grad school, I started the Ideal Protein program and lost around 80 lbs, however I didn’t follow the protocol for phasing off. More than two years later, after reverting to some old eating habits, I’d gained almost all of it back. I knew Ideal Protein worked, so I found Ideal Northwest and restarted.

“I have successfully lost 40 lbs and am nearly back to my goal. And because this clinic is so focused on maintenance, I have a much greater understanding of why I need to phase off properly, and how I need to eat to maintain my loss this time.”

I obtained my Masters in Counseling and am currently working toward a doctoral degree in Health Psychology. From this perspective, I can attest that Ideal Northwest’s coaches have a thorough grounding in techniques that support the weight loss process, and are very knowledgeable, professional and helpful. Each coach has had personal success on the diet, so they coach with empathy as well as assurance that success is possible.
